![]() The gameplay video has 8.3K likes to 13K dislikes, an underwater ratio, and the “proof” video is even worse, 1K to 3K. ![]() The short “proof” video has 92,000.īut reaction is majority negative. It’s pretty stunning that The Day Before’s 10 minute gameplay reveal, which again, is mostly just a character running around an empty landscape and fiddling with their inventory, now has 620,000 views in just over a day. Update (2/4): If you were wondering how the general public was taking the release of these two videos, I suppose we can summarize it with.a lot of interest, but a lot of skepticism. ![]() I do believe something is being made here, but whether it ever sees the light of day, or in what form, is anyone’s guess. I would not wishlist this game, I would not ever give it any money if it asks for it. It could be either, but I’m leaning toward the latter. something taking money and running with it, and something that’s just…dramatically overpromising and overhyping itself with a team that doesn’t know enough about game development to say, secure the trademark to your name before slapping it across all your marketing materials. There’s a difference between a “scam,” ie. It seems like a coinflip whether this actual game ever comes out, and when it does, it seems almost impossible that it will deliver on the initial hype the first teasers generated. At worst, they’re essentially fakes that show what they hope the final game will look like. These videos are at best, enormously cherrypicked vertical slices from something that is not all that far along.I do in fact believe Fntastic is attempting to make an actual survival game in Unreal Engine 5.So what is going on here? Here’s where I’ve landed on The Day Before: ![]()
